A Day in the Life of Crosby – Age 2

Language:

His speech has picked up HUGE over the last few weeks!  He started a bit behind Cooper, but is picking up speed fast!

Cooper = Boopa

Batman = NaNa (Na na na na Na na na na Bat Man!)

Spider Man = ManMan

Joker was one of his first words

Super Dog = Super Man Dog

Pizza = Cheepa

Train = Chugga chugga choo choo

Bad Boy, No-n0-n0, waving his finger…guess I must have said that a lot.

“OK”, and then he will go do whatever you asked him.

When I say “Crosby” or “Guess What”, he says in a very clear voice “What!”

He can count to 10 (I credit this to the pop up farm book where we count the animals)

“I’m free”, as he holds up 1 thumb and 2 fingers….and then smiles and says “I’m two” and holds up two fingers.

“Watch”….ANYTHING!  Cory took him to a full 2 hour movie, Cooper fell asleep, and Crosby watched the whole thing and didn’t move a muscle.  He wakes up in the morning and one of the first things he usually says is “Watch Hulk”, “Watch Scooby Scooby Doo”, “Watch Yogi”, “Watch Na Na”, “Watch Nemo”, “Watch Elmo”.  He knows how to use the DVD player better than I do.  Thank God for a minivan with a DVD player, but geesh, he is non-stop the second he knows we are getting into the car about watching something.  He will just sit on repeat “Watch Nemo, watch Nemo, watch Nemo, watch Nemo!”  If a cell phone is around, he will find it, unlock it, find the photo gallery, and open the pictures. This goes for anyone’s phone.  He loves watching himself and sometimes won’t even let me take a picture or video because he is too busy trying to get the phone to watch it.

His favorite stuffed animal (a giraffe pillow pet) = Buddy (he now has 2 he carries around sometimes simultaneously, after mom searched for 4 hours on the web to find one)

Right about at 2, he started to say “I love you too”…but when you say “Say I love you” he says, “I love you too”

Mine…

Hulk Smash

A body in motion:

How strong are you = holding his breath, tensing his muscles and flexing his arms out down front (He’s been doing this since before he was 1)

How big are you = Holding his hands straight up and getting as big as he can.

Pinching with a mean, scrunched up face.

Joyously doing the Iron Man repulsor ray move.

Running full speed with a little turn to the side like a dog with his body turned a bit.

Throws underhanded, not really digging the overhand option.

Cuddling.

Hugs, great hugs!

Kisses with sometimes big, open mouth, sloppy lips.

Big Boy!

Crosby (AKA Crozbo, Croz, Cross bow) is 95+% almost across the board: Height, weight, head size

He is a thick little dude. He is nearly as heavy as Cooper at 4 years old, and on some days feels heavier to me.

Friends:

Ryder, Owen (Ownen) (One day he said…”I punch Ownen”), Rhonda, John, Katie, Davis

He LOVES babies!!  Our recent addition of cousin Siri was awesome! He was so excited to meet “Baby Siri”, which he spoke so clearly!  When he met her, he just gently kept stroking her head and the side of her face, I was shocked at how gentle he is. When we are out, like at Coopers Tiny T-Ball, he will immediately gravitate towards the babies, or younger kids.

Activities:

He watches his big brother so intently.  Learning every move, jump, sassy tone, and response.  He idolizes him!  Whether it is jumping from cushion-to-cushion on the couch, or off the last step, or into the water….he has VERY little fear, if any.

He is one of the toughest kids I know, physically.  If he bonks his head, which is frequent, you would barely even know it.  He will look over at me most times after a fall or bonk and gauge my reaction prior to crying.  If I say, “You’re fine”…he is totally fine and moves on….CRAZY!

He loves books! We spent so much time with Cooper reading, and I love that Crosby enjoys books too!  We have decided to split up more at bedtime and read Crosby some more age-appropriate books like Elmo vs. sitting both of them together all the time to read what is more at Coopers level.  He seems to be enjoying that a bunch! I can say, “Crosby, go read some books” and he will say “OK” and head into his room.  One day for 45 minutes by himself….that was awesome!

His favorite books are: The Foot Book, Moo Moo Baa Baa, Elmo goes Potty, Captain America, The Marvel Stories, and Bee Bo

Timeouts:

The kid will put himself on timeouts.  He will just sit there, most of the time not making a peep. No crying, no yelling…just sits quietly and waits. When I go over to tell him why he was on time out, he stands up, hugs me, and says, “Sorry Mama”….melts my heart every time!

If Cooper does something to Crosby that warrants an apology and hug, Cooper will apologize, and Crosby will say “Sorry Boopa”…even when he did nothing wrong.

He may be a rough, tough, strong little dude even already….but he has a heart of gold!
